Enterprise edges out JDCC basketball 73-70

In a battle of one-win teams Thursday night in Enterprise, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team came out on the short end as they lost to Enterprise 73-70.
JDCC fell to 1-14 overall and to 1-4 in conference play while Enterprise improved to 2-12 and picked up their first conference win to improve to 1-3.
JDCC led 38-32 at the half but was outscored 41-33 in the second half to take the loss.
“Missed free throws and we didn’t rebound,” JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said of the loss Thursday. “We got a great shot at the end of the game to tie, but it rimmed out.”
Chris Oden led the Warhawks in the loss as he scored a game-high 26 points.
Fletcher Forte followed in double figures with 11 points and Dee Jay Braggs added nine. Corderrio Hasewood and Devonte Pope both chipped in six points each while Anthony Bell added five points. Matt Bass had three points and Kenny Nabors and Keaynon Gulley had two points each.
Braggs and Pope both led JDCC with seven rebounds each while Bell led with four assists. Nabors and Bass both had two blocks each while Pope led with two steals.
The Warhawks had 35 total rebounds in the loss with 10 coming on offense while Enterprise had 36 rebounds and 20 on the offensive side.
The Warhawks were scheduled to play host to Bishop State Monday night and will host Faulkner State Thursday in Brewton at 7 p.m. Both games are conference games for the Warhawks.
