Laura Tompkins Fleming

Mrs. Laura Tompkins Fleming, 89, died Tuesday January 29, 2013 in a Pensacola, Fla. nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Brooklyn, and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of Alco Methodist Church and a retired seambinder with the Brewton Ribbon Mill with more than 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fleming.
She is survived by a son, Bob (Carolyn) Fleming of Mobile; a daughter, Susan Fleming of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandchildren, Milton (Natalie) Fleming of Gadsden, and Taylor Bryant Fleming Trawick of Pensacola; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Wyatt Fleming and Tyler Cole Fleming; and a cousin,Allie Mae (Lewis) Peters of Pensacola.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Clint McBroom officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
