JDCC baseball goes 1-3 over weekend to fall to 4-4 overall this season

In a busy weekend of games for the Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team, the Warhawks went 1-3 to see their record fall to 4-4.
JDCC split a doubleheader with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Saturday to go to 4-2, but was swept at home Sunday against Wabash Community College to fall to 4-4.
JDCC took game one Saturday 6-5 to push their winning streak to four games, but lost game two 9-0 to see their winning streak end.
On Sunday, the Warhawks lost 5-1 and 9-3 to see their losing streak increase to three games.
JDCC is scheduled to play at Marion Military Thursday and will follow with three road games before returning home on Thursday, Feb. 21 against Spring Hill. Game time is set for a noon doubleheader.

JDCC 6, MGCCC 5
JDCC built a big lead in game one against Mississippi Gulf Coast Saturday and held on for a one-run win.
JDCC led MGCCC 6-2 after the fifth inning but saw Mississippi score three runs in the sixth inning to cut the lead to one. Both teams went scoreless the remainder of the game as JDCC earned their fourth straight win.
Tyler Howell earned the win on the mound and Mitchell Peterson earned the save.
Brandon Ray and Hunter Myrick led JDCC at the plate. Ray went 1-for-2 day at the plate with one RBI and a double. Myrick went 3-for-3 with one RBI.

MGCCC 9, JDCC 0
In game two, Mississippi shutout the Warhawks 9-0 to earn a split with JDCC.
JDCC managed only four hits in the loss as Myrick, Kyle Freeman and Alex Jones all had hits.
Michael Yarborough took the loss on the mound for JDCC.

Wabash 5, JDCC 1
The hitting woes continued for JDCC in their first game against Wabash Sunday as they lost 5-1.
JDCC was held to only three hits as they dropped their second straight game. Ray led JDCC at the plate with a 2-for-3 day and two RBIs. Dillan Schaniel had the lone RBI.
Tyler Murphy earned the loss on the mound for JDCC.

Wabash 9, JDCC 3
Wabash finished off the sweep of the Warhawks Sunday as they claimed a 9-3 win to drop JDCC to 4-4 this season with their third straight loss.
Myrick led JDCC at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with one RBI and had a double and a homerun.
Scott Robertson took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks.
