JDCC softball splits to get first win

The Jefferson Davis Community College split a home doubleheader Saturday against SW Mississippi Community College to pick up their first win of the season and improve to 1-3 this year.
JDCC lost their first game with SWMCC 12-7 to fall to 0-3 this season, but rebounded in game two with a 7-0 win to improve to 1-3.
JDCC is scheduled to host Pensacola State College Wednesday at home. Game time is set for 2 and 4 p.m.

SWMCC 12, JDCC 7
Leading 5-0 after three innings, the Lady Warhawks were outscored 12-2 the remainder of the game to remain winless this season and suffer a 12-7 loss.
Leading 5-0, SWMCC scored three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth inning and five in the seventh while holding JDCC to one run in the fourth and seventh innings.
Elissa Kelly took the loss on the mound as she went two innings and allowed three hits, five runs, one earned, walked and struck out two.
Jessica Swindell pitched one inning and allowed two hits, four runs, one earned, walked one and struck out two while Breana Hall pitched four innings and allowed three hits, three runs, one earned, walked one and struck out three.
At the plate, Kayla Watson had one RBI and Morgan Agerton was 1-for-3. Jennifer Fisher was 2-for-4 with a double and Paige Odom was 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Dymon Coachman batted 1-for-3 while Courtney Lowery had one RBI.
Laura Zeegers was 1-for-2 and Sarah Beth Watkins was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Rachel Seitz was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two doubles while Hall was 2-for-4.

JDCC 7, SWMCC 0
In game two, the Lady Warhawks shutout SWMCC 7-0 for their first win.
Seitz earned the win on the mound going the complete game and allowing four hits, no runs, walked three and struck out six.
At the plate, Agerton was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Fisher was 1-for-4. Odom was 1-for-3 with one RBI and a homerun while Mindy Walker was 1-for-1 with one RBI and a double. Zeegers had two RBIs as well as Hall who was 2-for-4 with two doubles.
