JDCC baseball swept by Bishop

In their second conference series of the year Saturday at Bishop State in Mobile, Jefferson Davis Community College’s Warhawk baseball team was swept to fall to 8-10 this season.
The Warhawks dropped game one to Bishop State 13-3 and then fell in game two 7-1.
In game one, Bishop State used an eight-run third inning to cruise their way to the 10-run win.
At the plate for JDCC, Hunter Myrick was 2-for-3 while Mark Humphreys, Matthew Holmes, Logan Hill and Michael Fox all had hits. Brandon Ray, Holmes and Fox all had one RBI each.
On the mound, John Williams, Scott Robertson and Mitchell Peterson all pitched and combined to go 5 1/3 innings and allowed 14 hits, 14 runs, seven earned, walked two and struck out two.
In game two, JDCC was held to one run while Bishop scored two each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and one in the third to take down JDCC 7-1.
At the plate, Hill was 2-for-3 with one RBI in the loss. Alex Jones was 2-for-3 while Kyle Freeman was 1-for-2 and Daniel Dunnam was 1-for-3.
Joey Scapecchi, Tyler Murphy and Tyler Henry all pitched in the loss. The trio went six innings and allowed nine hits, seven runs, two earned, walked two and struck out six.
