U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., will continue his traditional annual tour of all 67 Alabama counties this week with stops in the Mobile area, including a Saturday visit to Atmore.
Shelby’s visit to Escambia County will be held at The Coffee House, located at 112 West Ridgeley St. in Atmore, and will include a “meet and greet” session, as well as a period of time designated for questions from the public.
According to information from Shelby’s office, he has consistently visited each Alabama county since his first election to the Senate in 1986 and sees the meetings with his constituents as invaluable.
“Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government,” Shelby said. “This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation.”
During Saturday’s meeting, Shelby is expected to address the legislative agenda for the first session of the 113th Congress, as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama.
The meeting is open to the public. For additional information on Shelby’s upcoming visit, go to www.shelby.senate.gov.
