City movies move to Friday night

Officials with the City of Brewton have made a decision to change movie night from Tuesday to Friday in an effort to be more available to a wider number of citizens.
Connie Baggett, program director for the City of Brewton, said the change is aimed at making the movie showings more attractive to the community — and she encouraged residents to attend.
“The city is working to deliver on programs people have said they want here,” Baggett said. “While we can’t guarantee a movie theater company will come to our town, we can demonstrate that our citizens will support cinema. If no one is interested, on the other hand, that will also tell cinema operators something.”
The next movie night will be held Friday, March 22 and will be a James Bond film, “Skyfall.” Other movies on the spring schedule include “The Hobbit,”  “Les Miserables,” “Men in Black 3,” “Breaking Dawn 2,” “Bully,” “Pitch Perfect,” “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “Lincoln,” “The Hunger Games,” and “Madagascar 3.”
