Flomaton edges out WSN softball

In a pitcher’s duel Friday in Flomaton, the Lady Hurricane softball team edged out the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles 3-1. The loss dropped W.S. Neal to 8-7 this season.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie through the fifth inning when the Lady Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth. Leading 1-0, W.S. Neal fell to three runs in the bottom half of the inning and was held scoreless in the seventh to take the two-run loss.
Kena Ellison and Kaitlin Hadaway led the Lady Eagles at the plate. Both Ellison and Hadaway went 2-for-3 in the loss with Hadaway having the lone RBI.
Hadaway was the pitcher of record in the loss. Hadaway went six innings and allowed three hits, three runs, two earned, walked three and struck out 11.
W.S. Neal had one error in the loss.
