TRM softball drops area game at Cottage Hill

The T.R. Miller softball team took a hit Tuesday in their bid to host the area tournament as the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Lady Warriors handed them a 10-5 loss.
With the loss, T.R. Miller fell to 8-6 overall and to 3-2 in area play.
The Lady Tigers led Cottage Hill 5-1 after the top of the third inning. From there, Cottage Hill scored nine unanswered runs to double up the Lady Tigers by five.
Cottage Hill scored three runs in the third, five in the fifth and one in the sixth to help seal the win.
Moriah Brundidge led T.R. Miller at the plate going 2-for-4 with an RBI at the plate, while also pitching a complete game. Brundidge went six innings and allowed six hits and 10 runs in the loss.
The Lady Tigers defeated Cottage Hill earlier in the season in their first area game of the year in March.
T.R. Miller will play their final area game of the season on Thursday, April 11 when they travel to East Brewton to take on the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles. Game time is set for 4 p.m. with the JV teams playing at 5:30 p.m.
