Monroe County may have struck first Tuesday night against W.S. Neal in East Brewton, the undefeated and top-ranked got the last laugh as they defeated the Tigers of Monroeville 12-2 in six innings to improve to 17-0 this season.
After falling behind to Monroe County 2-0 in the top of the first, W.S. Neal strung together 12 unanswered runs over the next six innings to get the win by 10.
W.S. Neal scored one run in the first, three in the second, four in the third and two each in the fifth and sixth innings to keep their perfect season alive. W.S. Neal is the lone undefeated team in the state of Alabama.
Keith Bradley earned the win on the mound for the Eagles in relief of starter Tyler Joyner.
Joyner went the first inning and allowed two hits, two runs, one walk and struck out three.
Over the next two innings while earning the win, Bradley allowed one hit, no runs, walked one and struck out three.
Jeremy Myers went the next two innings for the Eagles and allowed on hit. Brian Settle closed out the game for the Eagles and went one inning and allowed no runs or hits, walked and hit one batter while striking out two.
At the plate for W.S. Neal, Myers had two singles and two RBIs while Damion Williams had a single and one RBI. Settle added a triple and one RBI and Joyner had two doubles.
Cam Blackman and Robin Swift both had a single each with Swift having one RBI. Bradley had a single and Mike Williams had a double and drove in the winning run. Malcolm Hawthorne provided a single for the Eagles in the win.

WSN JV 12, MCHS 1
In JV action, W.S. Neal pulled off a 12-1 win to improve to 13-4-1 this season.
Monroe County scored their lone run in the fifth inning while W.S. Neal jumped on the Tigers early and often.
W.S. Neal led 3-0 after the first inning, 7-0 after two innings, 10-0 after three innings and 12-0 after four.
Jared Cooper earned the win on the mound for W.S. Neal. Cooper went four innings and allowed one hit, walked one and struck out eight.
Lane Chavers went the final inning and allowed one hit and one run.
At the plate, Derrick Barton had a single and a double and two RBIs while Dakota Graves had two singles and one RBI.
Alex O’Keane, Nick Glass and Cooper also had singles in the 11-run win.
