EB Rays go 2-0 on opening day

In opening day games Saturday in East Brewton, the East Brewton 9 and 10-year-old Rays started the year 2-0.
In game one, the Rays took down the Braves 9-8 in seven innings to start the year 1-0 and later defeated the Astros 12-0 for their 2-0 start.
In a back-and-forth game one for the Ray, both teams scored two runs each in the first inning before the Rays took the lead in the third inning by scoring fours runs to make the score 6-5.
The Braves the tied the game in the fifth on an error to make the score 6-6, which would remain until the seventh, when the Braves scored one to take the lead.
The Rays then came back with Robert Philyaw hitting a single to place the tying run on second base. Jordan Sims then made first base on an error and Philyaw scored to tie the game.
Jordan Crane then hit a walk off double for the 9-8 win. Issac Smith pitched four innings and allowed four hits, six runs, walked two and had five strikeouts. Crane pitched the final two innings and allowed one hit, walked two, and allowed one run.
In game two, Caleb Sexton pitched the entire three-inning game to earn the win.
