JDCC Warhawk baseball gets fourth straight win

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team picked up their fourth straight win Thursday in Enterprise as they improved to 14-20 overall and to 6-13 in conference play with a 14-2 win in eight innings.
The win was the fifth win in eight games for the Warhawks.
In the scheduled nine-inning game, JDCC trailed Enterprise 1-0 after the first inning. After being held scoreless through the first three innings, JDCC got on the board in the fourth with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. In the sixth inning, JDCC added four more runs to take a 6-1 lead and added an eight-spot in the top of the eighth to increase their lead from 6-1 to 14-1. Enterprise plated one in the bottom of the inning, but the Warhawks claimed the mercy rule win by 12 in eight innings.
On the mound for JDCC, John Williams earned the win in 5 1/3 innings. Williams allowed three hits, one unearned run, walked four and struck out seven. Joey Scapecchi went the final 2 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, one unearned run, walked none and struck out three.
At the plate, JDCC pounded out 18 hits in the big conference win.
Logan Hill was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Matthew Holmes was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Kyle Freeman went 2-for-6 with two RBIs and Alex Jones was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Brandon Ray finished with a 1-for-5 day at the plate and had two RBIs while Trae Walsingham was 2-for-3. Reid Johnson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Hunter Bonds was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
The two teams met Saturday in Enterprise, but no stats or information was known as of press time.
JDCC will host LBW Thursday in a nine-inning game that is set for 1 p.m.
