Leading 6-0 heading into the final inning of play Monday at home against J.U. Blacksher, it looked as if the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team would claim their ninth win of the season with ease. Although the Lady Tigers claimed the win, the ease of the win did not come.
J.U. Blacksher scored four runs in the inning to cut the Lady Tiger lead to 6-4 and loaded the bases with two outs in the inning. From there, the Lady Tigers were able to get a force out at the plate to end the game and improve to 9-6 overall this season with a 6-4 win.
Moriah Brundidge was the pitcher of record for T.R. Miller. Brundidge went seven innings and allowed eight hits, four runs, walked five, hit two and struck out nine.
At the plate, Audrey Hamric led as she had three singles in the win. Abbi Roberts also led in the win as she finished with a single and a double. Madison Douglas, Kelsey Thompson, Krystal Bell and Jessica Allan all had singles in the win.
T.R. Miller led Blacksher 1-0 after two innings before scoring two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the 6-0 lead. All four runs for Blacksher came in the seventh inning.
T.R. Miller will travel to W.S. Neal Thursday for their final area game of the year. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in East Brewton.

TRM JV 2, JUB 1
In a low-scoring JV game Monday, T.R. Miller improved to 10-2 this season with a 2-1 win. All runs for both teams came in the first inning of play.
Anna Kate Brittain and Mary Madison Brown were both 1-for-2 at the plate for T.R. Miller’s only two hits of the game. Brittain had one RBI.
Myra Reiss earned the win in the circle for T.R. Miller as she went five innings and allowed four hits, one unearned run, walked one and struck out five.
T.R. Miller will play W.S. Neal Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
