The T.R. Miller Tiger varsity baseball team ended their three-game losing streak and the JV team ended with a win Tuesday at home against Excel.
The varsity Tigers improved to 12-9 with an 8-6 win over the Panthers and the JV Tigers rallied to get an 11-9 win and finish their season with a 4-7 record.
In the varsity game Tuesday, the Tigers used a four-run second inning to help aid them in the win.
Leading 2-1 after the first inning, Excel took a 3-2 lead over the Tigers in the second inning. From there, the Tigers scored four runs in the second to take a 5-3 lead. The Tigers took a 7-3 lead in the fourth, but saw their lead cut to 7-5 in the top of the fifth. In the sixth, Excel cut the lead to 7-6, but the Tigers added a late run in the bottom half of the inning and held Excel scoreless in the seventh to get the two-run win.
Kyle Davis earned the win on the mound for the Tigers and Ryan Hunt earned the save.
Davis went the first three innings and allowed three hits, three runs, walked four, hit two and struck out six. Darby Black went the next three innings for the Tigers and allowed six hit, three runs, walked none, hit two and struck out two.
In the final inning, Hunt struck out one to get the save.
At the plate, Jacob Fillmore had a double and a single and two RBIs and Kevin Davis added a double and an RBI. Kyle Davis chipped in a single and a double and two RBIs while Hunter Brittain, Tripp Floyd and Hunt all had singles in the win.

TRM JV 11, Excel 9
Leading Excel 4-2 after two innings in the final game of the season Tuesday, the T.R. Miller Tiger JV team surrendered six runs in the third inning to the Panthers to fall behind 8-4. After seeing their two-run lead turn into a four-run deficit, the Tigers rallied for a big third inning of their own as they plated seven runs to take an 11-8 lead. T.R. Miller would allow one run to the Panthers in the fourth to see their lead cut to two, but held on for an 11-9 win in their final game of the season.
Austin Holmes earned the win on the mound in relief of starter Timothy McDonald. Holmes went the final 2 1/3 innings and allowed three hits, one run, walked two, hit two and struck out none. McDonald went the first 2 2/3 innings and allowed six hits, eight runs, walked three and struck out and hit one batter.
At the plate, Brooks Brown had an RBI single and Jake Najor had two singles. Todd Mayo had two RBIs and James Peach had an RBI single.
Lane Clark added a single and two RBIs while Ethan Bollenbacher finished with a double and two RBIs.
