BPD: Public can help in investigation

A Brewton family and Brewton police are hoping someone saw something that could lead to making an arrest in a home burglary case currently under investigation.
Brewton Police Lt. Brock Holt said a burglary was reported at a Pea Ridge Road Home April 3 and few leads have been discovered in the case.
“We don’t have a lot to go on right now and we’re hoping that someone in the area may have seen something that would help in the investigation,” Holt said.
The home is located on Pea Ridge Road in the golf course vicinity, Holt said.
“The residents of the home were at work and school when the burglary happened,” Holt said. “Sometime between 7:30 that morning and 3 that afternoon, the home was burglarized.”
As the investigation continues into the burglary, Holt said police are asking for help from the public for leads in the case.
“Sometimes people see things that can help with an investigation,” Holt said. “If anyone in that area saw anything suspicious, it could make a difference in this case. Actually, even if they were just in that area during that time, they may have seen something that could make a difference. It may not have even appeared to be suspicious activity at the time — it could be anything. Things like the kinds of cars or people they saw in the area could lead us to a break in this case.”
Holt said anyone who may have been in the area of Pea Ridge Road near the golf course April 3 between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. is asked to call Brewton Police to offer assistance in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
