JDCC softball drops four straight to Faulkner State

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team is currently on a four-game losing streak with all four losses coming to the same team. Facing off against Faulkner State on Thursday in Bay Minette and Sunday in Brewton, the Lady Warhawks were swept in both doubleheaders.
JDCC lost game one on Thursday by a score of 10-2 and lost game two 12-0. In Sunday’s home doubleheader, the Lady Warhawks lost 2-1 and 3-1 to fall to 15-34 overall and to 5-9 in conference play.
In game Thursday, JDCC allowed six runs in the first inning to Faulkner to help the Lady Sun Chiefs to the 10-2 win. In game two, Faulkner scored five runs in the first and five more in the fourth to help propel them to the 12-run win.
Sunday at home, JDCC scored their lone run of the game in the first inning, but Faulkner had one run in the first and the fourth to help them to the 2-1 win.
In the final game Sunday, JDCC was held to one run in the sixth while Faulkner scored one in the third and two in the sixth to get the win.
Stats and other information from their games with Faulkner State were not known as of press time Monday.
Following a road game at Pensacola State Tuesday at 2 and 4 p.m., JDCC will be back in action at home on Thursday when they host LBW in their final games of the season. Game time is set for 1 and 3 p.m. at Lady Warhawk Field on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton.
The state tournament is set to be played May 3-5 in Alabaster.
