TRM track teams take first in home meet

The T.R. Miller track team hosted a home meet Thursday and both the boys and girls teams came in first place. Seven teams competed in the event. Joining T.R. Miller was W.S. Neal, J.U. Blacksher, Escambia County, Opp, Hillcrest and Monroe County.
In the boys meet, T.R. Miller scored 152 points to take first followed by Hillcrest in second place with 92. W.S. Neal placed third with 73 points and was followed by J.U. Blacksher with 47 points, Opp with 46 points, Monroe County in fifth with 40 points and Escambia County took sixth place with 37 points.
T.R. Miller took first place in eight of the 17 events while W.S. Neal placed first in three events. Hillcrest had four first place finishes while Monroe County and J.U. Blacksher each had one.
In the girls events, T.R. Miller cruised to a first place win with 284 points. J.U. Blacksher took second with 71 points and Hillcrest took third place with 61 points. In fourth place was Opp with 28 points followed by Monroe County with 27 points, W.S. Neal in sixth with 22 points and Escambia County in seventh place with 12 points.
T.R. Miller placed first in 13 events while Monroe County had one and J.U. Blacksher placed first in three events.
