Trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh, the W.S. Neal Eagles loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the seventh — but failed to score and took a one-run loss to the defending champion Trinity Wildcats.

W.S. Neal ended its dream season with a 30-2 record, while Trinity (31-8) advances to next week’s finals.

W.S. Neal led Trinity 1-0 after the second inning but saw the Wildcats tie the game in the fifth.

In the sixth, with one out, the Wildcats got back-to-back singles to get runners on first and third. From there, the Wildcats got a sacrifice fly to center to score the eventual game-winning run.

In the seventh, W.S. Neal got their 8-9-1 batters on to load the bases with no outs.

But then the Eagles popped out to left field, third, and the third out came on a sliding catch by Trinity’s center fielder to seal the win and eliminate the Eagles.
