Brewton Marlins, EB Rays, Brewton Tigers, Brewton Y-Nots and EB Dodgers all get wins

The Brewton Marlins, EB Rays, Brewton Tigers, Brewton Y-Nots and EB Dodgers all picked up recent wins in Cal Ripken baseball and softball games last week in East Brewton.
The Brewton Marlins rolled their way to a 26-2 win over the EB Astros while the EB Rays edged the Brewton Reds 5-3.
In 12U baseball, the Brewton Tigers came away with a 3-2 win over Flomaton while the EB Dodgers softball team defeated the Athletics 5-4. In 12U softball, the Brewton Y-Nots took down the Phillies 16-4.
Brewton Marlins 26,
EB Astros 2
The Brewton Marlins pounded out 19 hits and plated 26 runs in a 26-2 win over the EB Astros.
The Astros were held to three hits with two coming from Troy McCall and a triple coming from Konner Wood. Wood and McCall pitched in the loss and allowed 26 runs on 19 hits, walked and struck out four.
Wyn Brittain and Brother Peace pitched in the win and allowed two runs, three hits, walked three and struck out four.
At the plate, Kyle Blevins had four singles and a double while Brandon Coleman had four singles. Ed Dolihite had a single and a double along with Brittain while Collin Wood had two singles. Mac Baxter and Trent Brown both had a single each while Earl Dolhite had two singles.
EB Rays 5,
Brewton Reds 3
The EB Rays came away with another win this season as they edged out the Reds 5-3.
Issac Smith pitched in the win for the Rays and allowed three runs, five hits, walked two and struck out 12.
At the plate, Caleb Sexton had a single, double and a triple while Jordan Sims had two singles. Jordan Crane and Smith had a single each.
For the Reds, Logan Rowell and Blake Jernigan allowed five runs, seven hits, walked four and struck out 11.
At the plate, Whitley Lisenby had a triple while Blake Jernigan and Will Adams both had a single. Bracken Pettis had two singles.
Brewton Tigers 3,
Flomaton 2
Joseph Blackburn allowed two runs, three hits, walked none and struck out eight in a 3-2 win over Flomaton.
Matt Smith had a single and a double in the win along with Blackburn. A.J. Walker, Hunter Johnson, and J.D. Hartin all had singles.
For Flomaton, Dalton Kent, Andrew Cash and Evan Tatum all pitched and allowed three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out five.
Cash and Tyler Newton both had a single each in the loss while Tatum had a double.
EB Dodgers 5, Athletics 4
In 10U softball, the EB Dodgers edged out the EB Athletics 5-4.
Madison White pitched in the win for the Dodgers as she allowed four runs, seven hits, walked three and struck out six.
Kendall Carpenter had a single and a double in the win and Asia Davis added a single.
For the Athletics, Ashli Wyatt pitched and allowed five runs, three hits, walked six and struck out seven.
Makayla Crook, Natalie Wyatt and Haley Douglas all had singles while Kali Hunter and Ashli Wyatt had two hits each.
Brewton Y-Nots 16,
EB Phillies 4
The Brewton Y-Nots rolled to a 16-4 win over the EB Phillies. In the win, the Y-Nots pitchers allowed no Phillies hits.
No pitching stats for either teams were known as of press time.
At the plate for Brewton, Gabbi Solomon had two singles while Alexis King had a single and a double. KK Harp chipped in two singles while Mary Madison Brown had a single along with Dasa Aksew and Asia Campbell. Myra Reiss had an inside-the-park homerun in the win.
