Looking back at their days in school and looking forward to new challenges, 83 members of the Class of 2013 graduated from T.R. Miller High School Friday night.
Salutatorian Wesley James Maddox asked his fellow students to remember that “nothing is too challenging to achieve.”
“Now that high school is over, it is time for us to challenge ourselves,” he said.
Valedictorian John Martin West recalled that the class’ senior play showed how they could shine.
“We are artists and musicians, athletes and intellectuals,” he said.
“Never give up on your dreams, and never give up on yourself.”
Alexandria Noel Adams, also in the class’ top 10, delivered the class history, recalling their times together over the years. She teared up as she recalled the death of former principal Donnie Rotch at the beginning of the year, a tragedy which she said also brought the class closer.
“We are all truly blessed to be part of T.R. Miller’s legacy of greatness,” she said.
