Sky lanterns will be lit and launched in memory of those with cancer at a special birthday party for the American Cancer Society Thursday night.

Luminaria will also be lit at the park in honor and memory of those who have fought cancer.

Donations for luminary are $5 and for sky lanterns are $15.

Lanterns and luminary are available at Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union, Georgia Pacific and Trustmark Bank.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Burnt Corn Creek Park.
