East Brewton 8U all-stars currently 2-0 in tournament

In the 8U all-star baseball tournament in Andalusia, the East Brewton all-stars are 2-0 after their first two games. Currently in the six-team tournament, as of Monday morning, East Brewton and Andalusia are the only teams without a loss and are scheduled to face off Monday night at 7 p.m. The top two teams will advance along with Opp to state tournament. Sunday’s games were rained out.
In Friday’s opener against Covington County, East Brewton won 12-2 in four innings.
Caleb Peters was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Dakota Rose was 3-for-3 with one run scored. Rey Salazar was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Gavin Rose was 1-for-3.
Collin Nelson went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and Wyatt Kent was 2-for-3 with one run scored. Easton Grace went 3-for-3 and Nathan Engle was 2-for-3. Blake McNew and Cameron Watson were both 2-for-2 with McNew scoring one run and Watson scoring two.
On Saturday, East Brewton took down Brewton 12-4 in a game that saw two rain delays.
In the win, Peters was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Dakota Rose was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Salazar was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Gavin Rose batted 4-for-4 with two runs scored and Nelson was 3-for-4 with one run scored.
Kent was 2-for-4 and Grace went 3-for-4. Engle and Jakson Newton were both 3-for-3 with Newton scoring one run. McNew went 1-for-3 and Watson was 2-for-3 with one run scored.
Making the East Brewton 8U baseball all-star team for the 2013 season is: Jakson Newton, Wyatt Kent, Nathan Engle, Rey Salazar, Caleb Peters, Collin Nelson, Blake McNew, Dakota Rose, Gavin Rose, Cameron Watson, Easton Grace.
