Softball all-star season starts Thursday

State tournament officials in Andalusia have released all-star softball brackets for the 2013 season and games will begin on Thursday, June 27 for our local teams.
Last year, the Brewton 12U softball all-stars won the state championship on their home field in Brewton. In 2011, Brewton won the 10U state championship.
Making the 12U Brewton softball team is: Mary Madison Brown, Kaleigh Folsom, Kennedy Harp, Gabbi Solomon, Alexis King, Jashira Dees, Janazsia Nettles, Sarah Grace Gerety, Desiree Lambert, Madison Tremer and Hayley Thompson.
Joining Mary Brown as assistant coaches will be Bruce Thompson and Thomas Harp.
Making the 8U Brewton softball team is:
Alaysha Barton, Kinsley Byrd, Grayton Coale, Erica Howell, Megan Jackson, Serenity Mitchell, Peyton Myrick, Jennings Ruzic, Lauren Thompson, Isabella Walker, Caroline Williamson and Paige Young. Head coach is Will Ruzic.
Making the 10U Brewton softball team:
Macie Happoldt, Madison Hawthorne, Rebecca Moore, Kate Najor, Makenna Rowell, Courtland Salter, Sara Scott, Chloe Smith, Sailor Smith, Talya Smith, Mackenzie Thomas and Ansley Till. Head Coach is Chris Smith.
Dawayne White will serve as manager for the East Brewton/Flomaton 10U all-star softball team while Doug Sims and Thomas Peters will be the assistant coaches.
Players on the team are: Madison White, Taylor Peters, Natalie Wyatt, Asia Davis, Gracie Sims, MaKayla Crook, Jordan LaFogg, Morgan Dubose, Jailyn Bondurant, Teresa Harris, and Kendall Carpenter.
Team names for the East Brewton/Flomaton 12U team was not known as of press time.
Here is the complete list of tourney information:

6U:
While there will be no local teams in the 6U division, the tourney will see Alexander City and Covington County playing each other. Games will start on Friday, June 28, at 7 p.m. The two teams will then meet on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

8U:
The 8U tournament will see four teams playing each other and will begin on Friday, June 28, at 9 a.m.
Andalusia, Brewton, Opp and Covington County will meet each other. Andalusia and Opp will meet at 9 a.m. while Brewton and Covington County will meet at 11 a.m.
At 3 p.m., Andalusia and Covington County will play against each other while Brewton and Opp will tangle at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, June 29, Andalusia and Brewton will kick things off at 8 a.m. followed by Covington County and Opp at 9:30 a.m.
At 12:30 p.m., the No. 1 seed will meet the No. 4 seed while the No. 2 and 3 seeds will play each other at 2 p.m. At 5 p.m., the finals of the tournament will be played with the winners of the 12:30 and 2 p.m. games playing for the state title.

10U:
The 10U tournament will see eight teams playing each other as Alexander City, Wedowee, Covington County, Tri County, Andalusia, Brewton, Opp and Flomaton/East Brewton will meet against each other. Alex City, Andalusia, Brewton and Wedowee will be in the American Pool while Covington County, Opp, Flomaton/East Brewton and Tri County will be in the National Pool.
The tournament will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, with Alex City and Wedowee meeting followed by Covington County and Tri County playing at 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m. Thursday, Andalusia squares off with Brewton followed by Opp and Flomaton/East Brewton at 7 p.m.
The tournament will resume on Friday, June 28, with Alex City meeting Brewton and Covington County and Flomaton/East Brewton meeting each other at 11 a.m.
At 1 p.m., Wedowee meets Andalusia while Tri County and Opp will tangle at 3 p.m.
At 5 p.m., Alex City and Andalusia will play each other while Covington County and Opp will end the day with a 7 p.m. game.
Games will resume once again at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, when Flomaton/East Brewton meets Tri County. Brewton and Wedowee will wrap things up at 11 a.m.
At 2 p.m., the No. 1 seed from the American Pool will play the No. 2 seed from the National Pool. At 4 p.m., the No. 1 seed from the National Pool will meet the No. 2 seed from the American Pool.
At 7 p.m., the 2 and 4 p.m. game winners will meet in the finals for the state championship.

12U:
In the 12U tournament, two pools of four teams will play each other before meeting on Saturday, June 29 to determine the state champion.
Andalusia, Brewton, Ashland and PCI will be in the American Pool while Covington County, Flomaton/East Brewton, Opp, and Tri County will be in the National Pool.
Tourney play will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 when Andalusia and PCI meet on field one and Brewton and Ashland will play on field two. At 5 p.m. on field one, Covington County and Tri County will meet while Flomaton/East Brewton and Opp will play each other on field two.
At 7 p.m., Andalusia and Ashland will meet on field one while PCI and Brewton tangle on field two.
Play resumes at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 28, when Covington County and Opp meet. At 11 a.m., Flomaton/East Brewton meets Tri County while Andalusia and Brewton will play each other at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m., Ashland meets PCI. At 5 p.m., Covington County plays Flomaton/East Brewton while Opp meets Tri County at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, June 29, the No. 1 seed in the American Pool meets the No. 2 seed in the National Pool at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., the No. 1 seed in the National Pool meets the No. 2 seed in the American Pool.
The finals will be played at 5 p.m. with the winners of the 11 a.m. and the 1 p.m. meeting each other for the state championship.

14 and 16U:
In the 14 and 16U games, Elba and Covington County will play each other. The two teams will meet at 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
