Anita Wells Gatwood

Mrs. Anita Wells Gatwood, 71, of Chavers Creek Road, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Century, Fla., and a long time resident of the Brewton area.
She was a homemaker and member of the Friendship Free-Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Julia Wells and a grandson, B.J. Ard.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas M. Gatwood of Brewton; a son, Wayne (Nan) Carroll of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Gloria Hart, Tammy (Darrell) Waguespack and Julia (Jeff) Alexander, all of
Brewton; a sister, Anice Bell of Flomaton; eight grandchildren, Benji (Miranda) Gatwood, Shannon (Joan) Gatwood, Jason (Sabrina) Carroll, Matthew Carroll, Nathan Hawthorne, Tasha (Charles) Trawick, Tiffany Waguespack, Morgan Waguespack and Breanna Alexander; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Uvonne Caroll and the Rev. Howard Henry officiating.  Burial followed in Catawba Springs Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Benji Gatwood, Shannon Gatwood, Jason Carroll, Matthew Carroll, Darrell Waguespack,
