The mother of a teenager killed in a wreck last month remains behind bars with no bond.

Angela Robinson, 33, of East Brewton was charged with murder in the death of her son, Nicholas, following the crash on County Road 55 (Travis Road).

She was a passenger in Earl Dickerson’s pickup truck.  Arrest warrants say both adults were intoxicated and allowed Nicholas and his cousin, Anasia Brazile, to ride in the back of the truck unrestrained.

Robinson has previous convictions for perjury and possession of a controlled substance and was on parole for those convictions after serving some time in jail.

Because the murder charge could constitute a violation of parole, Robinson will face a judge to determine whether her bond on the earlier charges will be revoked, which would require her to serve the remaining nine years on a previous sentence, officials said.

No hearing date has been set.

As of Friday, Dickerson was still in the Escambia County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. Robinson’s bond on the murder charge was also set at $150,000, however, until a judge can determine if bond on previous charges will be revoked, she will remain in jail.
