In their two games this week, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team took two losses to fall to 0-5 overall and to 0-4 in conference play.
JDCC lost 3-0 to Wallace-Selma Wednesday on the road before falling to Gadsden 3-0 at home Thursday night.
“We are still trying to learn to compete at the college level as well as learning how to deal with adversity like being on the road and having calls go against us,” JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said of his team’s loss to Selma.
As for the home loss Thursday to Gadsden, Gainer said Gadsden was a good team—a team that beat nationally-ranked Hanceville 3-0.
“I believe they were the most fundamentally sound team we have played yet,” Gainer said. “We competed in the third game and hopefully we have turned the corner toward knowing what it takes to win in college.”
JDCC will be back in action Thursday at Hanceville at 2 p.m. The game with Hanceville Thursday will be the first of five straight road games for the Lady Warhawks.
