TRM XC runs in Challenge of Champions in Mobile

In the Challenge of Champions cross country race Saturday in Mobile, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers came in eighth out of 18 teams.
In the invite race that had 116 runners, T.R. Miller’s Karisa Nelson came in fifth place with a time of 19:44.73 while Katie Nelson took sixth with a time of 19:46.81.
Allie Nelson placed 18th with a time of 21:11.13 and Kelsi Lum took 95th with a time of 25:31.38.
Amber Terry came in 105th for the Lady Tigers with a time of 26:16.52 and Auburn Schoonover was 106th with a time of 26:22.71.
Karisa Nelson’s time earned her national silver standard performance.
In the open race for the girls, T.R. Miller finished 16th out of 23 teams. At total of 217 runners race in the open girls race Saturday.
For T.R. Miller, Tarah Townsend was the first Lady Tiger to come across the finish line as the finished 47th overall with a time of 25:59.70. Breanne Huff finished 74th with a time of 27:39.88 and McKena Gleaton finished 114th overall with a time of 29:41.95.
Also for the Lady Tigers, Carmen Knowles took 144th place with a time of 31:18.92 and Kennedy Harp was 146th with a time of 31:21.26. Sarah Byrd placed 162nd with a time of 32:25.51 and Tess Thomas rounded out the Lady Tigers with a time of 35:03.31 for 191st place.
In the open race for the boys, T.R. Miller took 14th place out of 26 teams in a race that saw 299 runners.
Christian Carlson led the way for the Tigers with a time of 19:05.89 that earned him a 22nd place finish.
Travis Carlson finished in 86th place with a time of 21:07.92 while Dillon Simmons took 126th and Micah Flores finished 167th. Simmons ran a time of 22:02.78 while Flores finished with a time of 22:56.46.
Noah Morris ran a rime of 24:47.48 for a 217th place finish while Nash Diercks had a time of 25:42.32 for 234th place. Gavin McNeil finished in 242nd place with a time of 26:19.11 while Tucker McDaniel and Walker Harris finished 246th and 247th respectively. McDaniel had a time of 26:39.45 while Harris ran a time of 26:42.55.
Tanner McDaniel finished in 253rd place with a time of 26:57.42 and Sam Terry had a time of 28:35.07 for 269th.
Noah Winton took 278th place with a time of 30:09.80 while Rider Jernigan placed 285th with a time of 31:13.78. Garrett Cave finished in 294th place with a time of 34:03.38.
