It may have not been pretty in T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball head coach Greg White’s eyes, but it was two wins for his team Tuesday night in Excel as they swept a tri-match with the Excel Lady Panthers and the Thomasville Lady Tigers. With the win, T.R. Miller improved to 4-1 overall.
Against Thomasville, T.R. Miller won 2-1. The Lady Tigers won set one 25-15 before falling in set two 25-15. In the deciding third set, T.R. Miller won 15-8.
Against Excel, T.R. Miller claimed another 2-1 win. In set one, the Lady Tigers defeated Excel 26-24 before falling in set two 25-12.
In set three, T.R. Miller won 15-10.
“Tonight was just one of those nights when things just don’t go your way over and over again and you somehow find a way to win,” White said. “That happened in both games. We just never got in a rhythm of what we were doing but we found a way to win both games. As ugly as it was it says a lot about the girls that they kept playing hard until the very end and found a way to get it done.”
White and his Lady Tigers will be back in action Thursday at home as they host rival W.S. Neal in an area game.
Play will begin at 4 p.m. with the middle school teams playing followed by the JV at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m.
