WSNMS volleyball sweeps ECMS to start year 2-0

The W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagle volleyball team had a good start to their season Tuesday at home as they swept a doubleheader match with Escambia County Middle School.
The Lady Eagles started 2-0 with 2-0 wins in both matches. The Lady Eagles won set one 25-20 in match one with ECMS and also claimed a 25-14 win in set two.
In the second match, W.S. Neal claimed a 2-0 win as they won 25-16 in set one and 25-15 in set two.
In match one, Janiya McCants led in the set one win with six service points. Marisha Fraser and Teresa Matthews both had five service points while Aleigh Lanier, Kayla Ball and Tori Gilliam had three service points each.
In set two of match one, Ariyona Collins led with 11 service points. Taylor Stewart had four points while Fraser had three points along with Jashira Dees. Matthews and McCants and two points each.
In set one of match two, McCants led with 11 points while Lanier had six points. Ball had five points and Fraser had three points.
In set two of the second match, McCants led with nine service points and Caitlyn Hartsel had five points along with Fraser. Stewart and Ball had three points each.
W.S. Neal Middle School will play at T.R. Miller Thursday at 4 p.m. when they take on Brewton Middle School.
