A jury won’t be hearing the case against Daniel Gregory Wilson anytime soon according to Escambia County court officials.

The case, which was to be heard before a jury during the fall term of the 21st Judicial Circuit Criminal Court, has been continued at least until December. Jury selection began Monday for the fall term of the court.

According to reports, a witness expected to testify in the case is out of the state and unable to return for the proceedings.

Wilson is charged with attempted murder in connection to the shooting of a motel clerk and a stand-off with law enforcement officers in July 2010. The case was previously scheduled for a July 2012 court date but ended in a mistrial when a witness failed to show up for the proceedings. That witness was expected to speak as an expert regarding the mental evaluation of Wilson as it pertained to the time just before and during the incident in question.

No specific date for a trial has been set, officials said.
