The subject of a manhunt last week ended with the arrest of the suspect Sunday, according to Escambia County Chief Deputy Mike Lambert.
Eric Wayne Haskew was taken into custody by Escambia County officers and is now facing a laundry list of charges, Lambert said.
“We appreciate all of the help we received in our search for Haskew,” Lambert said. “We made a plea to the citizens of this area and they helped us in this case.”
Haskew is now facing several charges including two counts of resisting arrest; two counts of attempting to elude; third-degree criminal trespassing; two counts of failure to appear and third-degree escape.
Haskew became the subject of a manhunt last Tuesday when he fled from officers during a routine traffic stop in the Riverview community.
Haskew was on probation in 2010 after he was arrested and charged with first-degree theft of property and first-degree criminal mischief involving an historic bridge structure in Covington County.
No bond information for Haskew was available as of press time Tuesday. He remains in custody at the Escambia County Detention Center.
