Mothers will be able to receive WIC vouchers for themselves and their children for the next month, despite the federal government shutdown.

The Alabama Department of Public Health announced Wednesday that the federal government has provided additional funds for Women, Infants, and Children programs to operate.

The Alabama WIC Program will continue to see participants and issue benefits through the month of October. Participants will be limited to one month’s issuance of food benefits.
