The W.S. Neal varsity Lady Eagle volleyball team ended their three-game losing streak Tuesday with two wins over Excel and Hillcrest in a tri-match in Excel. While the varsity team saw their streak end and a new winning streak begin, the JV Lady Eagles saw their losing streak hit four straight as they took a 2-0 loss to Excel to fall to 2-7.
The JV Lady Eagles lost 25-19 and 25-11.
In varsity action, W.S. Neal defeated Excel 2-0 as they claimed a 25-23 win in set one and a 25-19 win in set two.
Against Hillcrest, W.S. Neal won 2-0 as they claimed 25-9 wins in both set one and set two.
“In set one against Excel it took us a little bit to start playing,” head coach Jason Blaney said. “Coach Sampley and Excel have a very good team. In the second set we started playing much better. Against Hillcrest we did a good job of not letting up and played very consistent. Both wins were good wins for us as we head into a big area game
against Cottage Hill at Cottage Hill Thursday.”
After Thursday’s games, W.S. Neal will play in the Escambia County tournament Saturday at JDCC. W.S. Neal will start the tournament off at 9 a.m. against T.R. Miller.
