The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday night to a team other than Bayside Academy and Cottage Hill—the No. 1 and No. 6 teams in class 3A—as they took a 3-1 loss to the Jay Royals Thursday in Jay.
T.R. Miller lost set one 25-23, set two 25-20, won set three 25-15 and lost set four 25-23.
“We didn’t play like T.R. Miller tonight,” Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “That’s the bottom line. Give Jay a lot of credit. Those kids played hard and did a great job on defense. Two of the three losses were by two points. Had we made a play here or there the outcome could have been different in both of those games. We have to learn from what gets us beat and correct it and move on to the next match.”
The loss dropped T.R. Miller to 8-5 overall.
In JV action, T.R. Miller won 2-0 to improve to 8-3 this season. T.R. Miller took set one 25-19 and set two 25-23.
