WSNMS boys basketball team defeats Flomaton, girls fall

The W.S. Neal Middle School girls and boys basketball teams split their Wednesday games at Flomaton.
The W.S. Neal Middle School girls fell to 1-3 overall after their took a 33-17 loss to Flomaton while the boys improved to 3-1 with a 38-25 win.

Flomaton 33, WSNMS girls 17
A 15-0 deficit in the second quarter proved costly for the W.S. Neal Middle School girls as they dropped a 16-point loss to Flomaton Wednesday.
The Lady Eagles led 8-6 after one quarter before being outscored 15-0 in the second quarter to trail 21-8 at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 5-2 to cut the lead to 23-13. In the fourth, Flomaton ended the game on a 10-4 run to get the win.
Jashira Dees and Maniya Smith both had five points each in the loss while Marisha Frazier had three. Haylee Watson and Dominique Jackson both had two points each in the loss.

WSNMS boys 38, Flomaton 25
The W.S. Neal Middle School boys picked up their third straight win with a 38-25 win over Flomaton.
W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 10-4 in both the first and second quarters to grab a 20-8 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal had an 11-7 run to grab a 31-15 lead. Flomaton would end the game on a 10-7 run to cut the W.S. Neal, but the Eagles were able to hang on for the win by 13 points.
Jacoby Hawthore led W.S. Neal with 15 points while Marvin Maddox added 13.
Rickey Samuel chipped in six points while Stephen Summerlin and P.J. Lovelace both had two points each in the win.
