What are the chances of wintry weather this week?

If you are traveling north in Alabama for the holidays, you might encounter some of the white stuff, although there is a chance of “wintry weather” in the Brewton area Tuesday night, said David Adams, Escambia County’s emergency management director.

Rain is expected throughout much of the day and into the evening Tuesday, according to weather forecasts. Temperatures will be in the 50s and as high as 60 on Tuesday, but the forecast calls for a low of 35, with wind and rain showers in the evening, so sleet is a possibility.

But as you head farther north in Alabama, snow flurries or showers are a possibility, with forecasts in Birmingham and Montgomery calling for snow Tuesday night.

Wednesday and Thursday will likely be dry in Brewton, but temperatures will dip into the 20s at night.
