TRM Lady Tigers basketball starts 0-1

The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers basketball team started off their 2013-14 season with a 50-12 loss to South Walton in the Choctawhatchee/Chick-Fil-A Thanksgiving basketball tournament Monday.
In the game Monday, T.R. Miller and South Walton were tied 7-7 after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, South Walton took a 21-11 lead at the half after outscoring the Lady Tigers 14-4 in the quarter.
From there, it was all South Walton as they outscored T.R. Miller 29-1 in the second half to get the win by 38 points.
South Walton held a 13-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter to hold a 34-12 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the Lady Tigers were outscored 16-0.
Star Drakeford led the Lady Tigers with four points while Shayn Bradley and Akilah Brazile both had three points each. Mekiah Williams chipped in two points in the loss.
With the loss, T.R. Miller was scheduled to play Niceville Tuesday in the tournament.
With a win over Niceville Tuesday, T.R. Miller will play at 1 p.m. Wednesday for fifth or sixth place in the tournament.
With a loss to Niceville Tuesday, T.R. Miller will play at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the seventh place game.
T.R. Miller will be back in action Saturday at Monroe County. Game times are set to tip off at 4:30 p.m. with the B-teams playing first followed by the girls and then the varsity boys teams.
The first home game for all T.R. Miller basketball teams will be Friday, Dec. 13 against W.S. Neal. The game against W.S. Neal will be an area game for the varsity girls and boys teams.
