Escambia County sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the case of a mysterious death in Atmore.

Willie Martin Jr., 59, was found dead in his apartment at Sizemore Creek, an upscale and fairly new complex on Alabama Highway 21. Preliminary autopsy results showed no signs of obvious injuries, but the investigation is ongoing, said Chief Deputy Mike Lambert.

The apartment complex manager and a neighbor said they believed the death was by natural causes.
