TRM B-team wins fourth straight game, varsity falls to Northview

T.R. Miller’s B-team saw their winning streak improve to four straight wins Monday night at home against the Northview Chiefs while the varsity Tigers saw their two-game winning streak end.
The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers did not play Monday night against Northview.
The B-team Tigers took down Northview 28-21 to improve to 4-1 this season while the varsity team lost 66-55 to fall to 2-3 this season.

TRM B-team 28, Northview 21
In their last game before the Christmas and New Years break, the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team made sure to keep their winning streak alive as they picked up a 28-21 win over the Northview Chiefs Monday night.
Ahmaud Taylor and Markail Mitchell led the Tigers with 12 points each. Tamerick Jenkins followed with four points in the win.
The Tigers shot 3-for-10 from the free throw line while Northview was 4-for-9.
T.R. Miller led Northview 12-6 after the first quarter and 13-12 at the half. In the third quarter, T.R. Miller outscored Northview 8-5 to take a 21-17 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth, T.R. Miller ended the game on a 7-4 run to get the win by seven points.

Northview 66, TRM varsity 55
Led by Neino Robinson’s 32 points, the Northview Chiefs handed the T.R. Miller varsity basketball team their third loss of the season Monday night at home as they defeated the Tigers 66-55.
Trailing by as many as 21-9 in the second quarter, T.R. Miller was able to tie the game at 35-all with 1:48 left in the third quarter.
From there, Northview used two 8-0 runs to put the game away and get the 11-point win to end T.R. Miller’s two-game winning streak.
Northview led T.R. Miller 16-9 after one quarter of play and 28-24 at the half. In the third quarter, the Chiefs outscored T.R. Miller 13-11 to take a 41-35 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the Tigers were outscored 25-20 to take the loss.
Chardian Johnson led T.R. Miller with 16 points. Dominique Jackson added nine points while Kieon Smith and Caden Lodge both had eight points each. Trae Walker had seven points, Kellyn Winn had five points and Jalen Jones had two in the loss.
T.R. Miller shot 9-for-18 from the free throw line in the loss while Northview was 8-for-26.
