An Atmore man was killed Thursday evening when the bicycle he was riding was truck by a car.

Alabama state troopers said Charlie Phillips, 61, of Atmore was operating a bicycle when he was struck by a 1996 Chevrolet driven by Rodney Brooks, 46, also of Atmore.

The crash occurred on U.S. 31 at the 35-mile marker, about five miles south of Atmore, around 6:10 p.m.

No further information was available. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
