JDCC baseball to begin Friday, will have first home game Saturday

Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk head baseball coach Darrell Blevins and his Warhawks will take to the diamond for their first game of the 2014 season Friday, Jan. 31. JDCC will play on the road against Chattahoochee Valley to begin the season. Game time is set for 1 p.m. local time and will be nine innings.
The schedule for the Warhawks shows 53 total games—including doubleheaders— with 24 being home and 29 away. Of the 52 games, 15 games will not be doubleheaders.
JDCC will play against six conference teams—Faulkner State, Bishop State, Enterprise, LBW, Alabama Southern, and Wallace Dothan. JDCC’s first conference game will be Tuesday, Feb. 25, on the road against Faulkner State. The game will be a doubleheader slated to begin at 1 p.m.
JDCC will play their six conference opponents in doubleheader games to start the season.
Later on, the teams will meet and play one nine inning game followed by a nine inning and a seven inning doubleheader the next day. The later games will be played at the opposite location of the first meetings between the two teams.
