Warhawk basketball takes 80-60 loss to Bishop State

The conference season woes for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team continued Thursday night on the road in Mobile as JDCC dropped an 80-60 loss to the Bishop State Wildcats. With the loss JDCC fell to 3-12 overall and to 1-6 in conference play.
In the loss Thursday, JDCC was outscored by 17 points—40-23—in the first half. In the second half, the Warhawks were outscored 40-37 to take the loss by 20 points.
Leading the way for the Warhawks in the loss was Mikwese Claybourne with 19 points and Anthony Bell with 12. Chris Oden chipped in 11, Keaynon Gulley added nine, Christian Jones added seven and Sherman Rountree finished with two points.
Oden, Rountree and Claybourne all led with five rebounds each while Gulley led with four assists.
Jones and Gulley both finished with one block each to lead the Warhawks in the loss while Gulley led with three steals.
JDCC will be back in action Monday at home against Enterprise State. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton.
