JDCC softball goes 2-2 in games Friday and Saturday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team played four games in two days Friday and Saturday and went 2-2 to see their record go to 2-4 overall.
On Friday, JDCC took on Southwest Mississippi and Northwest Florida and came away with a split.
JDCC defeated Southwest Mississippi 6-5 in game one before falling to Northwest Florida 5-1 in their second game of the day.
On Saturday, JDCC played a doubleheader against Southwest Mississippi and again took a split. The Lady Warhawks won game one to SWMCC 4-3 before taking a 3-1 loss in the second game of the day.
The Lady Warhawks will have a four-game road trip, all being doubleheaders, before returning home on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to face Pensacola State. JDCC’s home game is set to be a 1 and 3 p.m. doubleheader.
On the road trip, JDCC will take on Northwest Florida, LSU-Eunice, Jones County and East Mississippi.

Friday game one: JDCC 6, SWMCC 5
With the game tied at 5-all heading to the bottom of the seventh inning, JDCC plated one run to get a 6-5 win for their first win of the season.
Jessica Swindle earned the win in the circle in relief of Kaitlin Hadaway. Hadaway went the first six innings and allowed 12 hits, five runs, two earned, walked four and struck out five.
Swindle went one inning and faced three batters.
At the plate for JDCC in the win, Breanna Hall had two doubles and one RBI. Rachel Seitz and Moriah Trujillo also had one RBI each.
Kaitlyn Kenfield had two hits, Hall ended up with four, Seitz had one, Mindy Walker had two along with Laura Zeegers and Caroline Clark added one hit along with Joi McCants.
Audrey Hamric had three hits in the win.

Friday game two: NWF 5, JDCC 1
Northwest Florida built a 5-0 lead over JDCC through six innings and held the Lady Warhawks to one lone run to get a four-run win over JDCC by a score of 5-1.
Swindle took the loss in the circle as she went the complete game six innings (the game was called early due to darkness) and allowed five runs, three earned, walked four and struck out two.
At the plate for JDCC, Joi McCants had the lone RBI. Kenfield, Hall, Seitz, Walker and Hamric had one hit each while Zeegers had two.

Saturday game one: JDCC 4, SWMCC 3
Down 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, JDCC plated three runs in the final inning to get a 4-3 win over Southwest Mississippi in Saturday’s first game.
Once again, Swindle earned the win. Swindle went seven innings and allowed 10 hits, three runs, two earned, walked one and struck out two.
At the plate for JDCC, Hall, Walker, Seitz and Clark all had doubles. Hall, Walker, Clark and Hamric all had RBIs.
Kenfield added three hits and Zeegers had one.

Saturday game two: SWMCC 3, JDCC 1
Facing off against Southwest Mississippi for the third time in two days, JDCC lost 3-1.
Hadaway took the loss as she allowed eight hits, three runs, two earned, walked one and struck out five in five innings.
Zeegers had a double in the loss and one RBI for JDCC.
Kenfield, Hall, Walker, Seitz, Clark and McCants all had hits in the loss.
