The end of the regular season for the W.S. Neal basketball teams ended with only one Eagle team coming away with a win Monday night at home against Flomaton on Senior Night.
The W.S. Neal Eagle B-team was the lone team to come away with a win as they edged out the Hurricanes 31-27 to end their regular season with a win and finish the season with a 3-14 overall record.
In the girls game Monday night, Flomaton thrashed the Lady Eagles 34-17 to drop the Lady Eagles to 5-16 this season.
In the varsity game, Flomaton beat W.S. Neal with a buzzer beater on an inbound with 0.8 seconds left to stun the Eagles of East Brewton and hand them to 59-57 loss. The two-point loss for the Eagles dropped W.S. Neal’s record to 5-18 this season.
While the B-team Eagles ended their season, the Lady Eagles and varsity Eagles will play in their area tournament games Friday in Mobile at Cottage Hill.
W.S. Neal’s girls will face T.R. Miller at 3 p.m. Friday while the varsity Eagles will play Bayside Academy at 4:30 p.m.

WSN B-team 31, FHS 27
After taking down Flomaton earlier in the season for their first win of the year, the W.S. Neal B-team ended their season with a 31-27 win over the Hurricanes to sweep Flomaton this year.
Tray-D Jones led W.S. Neal in the win with nine points while Darius Tolbert and Alex O’Keane both chipped in eight points each.
Matt Brown finished with six points for the Eagles of East Brewton.
In the game Monday, W.S. Neal led Flomaton 11-5 after one quarter of play and 16-12 at halftime after the Hurricanes held a 7-5 scoring advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Flomaton continued to cut into W.S. Neal’s lead as they outscored the Eagles 10-7 in the quarter to trail 23-22 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal ended the game on an 8-5 run to seal the win by four points.

FHS 36, WSN Lady Eagles 19
Trailing 22-15 at halftime, W.S. Neal was outscored by Flomaton 14-4 in the second half to suffer a 17-point loss by a score of 36-19.
The Lady Hurricanes jumped on W.S. Neal early and often as they raced out to an 18-7 lead after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, W.S. Neal showed signs of live as they doubled up Flomaton 8-4 to cut the lead to 22-15 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, a quarter that saw only six combined points scored, Flomaton doubled up W.S. Neal 4-2 to increase their lead to 26-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Flomaton once again held W.S. Neal to only two points as they poured in 10 of their own to get the win by 17.
KeKe Floyd led W.S. Neal with eight points while Jasmine Crook finished with seven. Alyssa English and Taylor Burns both added two points each in the loss.
Burns, Crook, Floyd and Mariah Davis all had three rebounds each in the loss while English had two. Crook and Davis added one assist each while Burns had one steal. Crook and Floyd had three blocks while Davis had one.

FHS 59, WSN varsity 57
With the game tied at 57-all and .8 seconds left in the game, Flomaton hit a shot at the buzzer to stun the W.S. Neal varsity Eagles to claim a 59-57 win.
The game was back-and-forth the whole night with W.S. Neal leading 15-9 after one quarter of play, but trailing 26-25 at the half after falling to a 17-10 run by the Hurricanes in the second quarter.
Down by one, W.S. Neal edged out the Hurricanes 13-12 in the third quarter to tie the game at 38-all heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Flomaton edged out the Eagles of East Brewton 21-19 to get the win by two points.
Jacobey Hawthorne led W.S. Neal with 19 points while Troy Lewis and D.J. Hodges both had nine points each.
Dalton Shell finished with seven points while Kenny Walker had five points. Trevor Burns and Mike Williams both finished with four points each.
