Faulkner State sweeps JDCC baseball

In their first conference game Tuesday in Bay Minette against Faulkner State, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team was swept 2-0.
JDCC lost game one 5-3 and took a 3-0 loss in game two to fall to 2-8 overall and to start their conference schedule with an 0-2 record.
In game one, JDCC trailed Faulkner 4-0 after four innings. Down 5-1 after six innings, JDCC plated two in the seventh to cut the lead to 5-3, but took the loss by two.
Garrett Davis and Ryan Roberts pitched in the loss. The duo went six innings and allowed nine hits, five runs, three earned, walked one and struck out none.
At the plate for JDCC, Michael Fox, Logan Hill and Cameron Davis all had doubles. Fox, John-Mark Cosby and Logan Hill all had RBIs.
Greg Ciangiotto and Tanner Zant added hits in the loss.
In game two, FSCC blanked JDCC. FSCC scored two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to get the win.
Trey Marshall and Nick Helton pitched in the loss for JDCC. Marshall and Helton went six innings and allowed six hits, three runs, two earned, walked two and struck out three.
At the plate for JDCC, Matthew Holmes had a double. Fox and Davis added hits for JDCC.
JDCC will be back in action Saturday at home when they host Bishop State in a noon doubleheader. The game will be a conference game for the Warhawks of JDCC.
