In their first games of the year Friday and Saturday in their own TRM Invitational, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers went 3-2 and lost in the tournament’s semifinals.
T.R. Miller opened tourney play with a 14-2 win over Hillcrest. In their second and final game of the day Friday, T.R. Miller defeated McGill-Toolen 8-2.
In their final game of pool play Saturday morning, T.R. Miller lost to Davidson 2-1 to finish as runner-ups.
In the single elimination tournament Saturday, T.R. Miller defeated J.U. Blacksher 3-2 before falling to Northview 4-3.
“Overall I thought we had a good weekend,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “We got to play five games in two days and we came away with three wins and two losses. Our losses were to the two teams that played in the championship game. Each loss was by one run and we had opportunities to win each game but we just fell just a little short. We had a few people out with sickness and injuries so I had to have some other players step up and play and they did a good job of that.”
