JDCC baseball splits at Enterprise Tuesday

In their conference games Tuesday at Enterprise State, the Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team came away with a split.
The Warhawks lost game one 4-3 but came away with an 8-0 win in game two to improve to 4-10 overall and to 2-4 in conference play.
JDCC is scheduled to host LBW Saturday at home at noon in a conference doubleheader.

Game one: ESCC 4, JDCC 3
Leading 3-0 after the top of the third inning, JDCC’s baseball team surrendered four unanswered runs to Enterprise State to take a 4-3 loss.
Enterprise plated two runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings to get the one-run win.
Taylor Baynes and Garrett Davis pitched in the loss for the Warhawks. The dup went six innings and allowed six hits, four runs, two earned, walked one and struck out three.
At the plate, JDCC had only four hits with Logan Hill and Jonathan Moore having two each. Dake Rivers had two RBIs while one of Hill’s hits was a double.

Game two: JDCC 8, ESCC 0
Five runs in the fifth inning helped JDCC come away with a split with ESCC as they came away with an 8-0 win in game two.
Along with the five-run fifth inning, JDCC added one run each in the third, sixth and seventh innings.
Trey Marshall and Ryan Roberts pitched in the win for JDCC as the combined to go seven innings and allowed five hits, no runs, walked two and struck out five in the win.
At the plate, John-Mark Cosby, Hill, Cameron Davis and Brandon Goins all had hits.
Craig Headley, Rivers, Alex Jones, and Moore all had two hits each.
Jones added a double in the win and three RBIs while Cosby, Hill, Rivers, and Goins all had one RBI each.
