Saraland hands TRM baseball two losses Tuesday

Tuesday was not a good day for the No. 2-ranked T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team as they faced off against the Saraland Spartans. The Tigers were swept by Saraland to fall to 11-3 this season.
In game one, T.R. Miller surrendered eight runs to Saraland in the fourth inning to suffer a 9-1 loss.
In game two, with the Tigers up 5-4 in the seventh inning, Saraland plated four runs in the final inning to rally and stun the Tigers with an 8-5 loss.

Game one: Saraland 9, TRM 1
With T.R. Miller leading 1-0 after a first inning homerun by Kyle Davis, Saraland scored nine unanswered runs to get a 9-1 win over the Tigers.
Saraland plated eight runs in the fourth inning and one in the sixth to get the eight-run win.
Drew Williamson, Tripp Floyd and Chris Jones all had one single each for T.R. Miller at the plate to go along with Davis’ homerun.
Floyd, Ryann Gray and Caden Lodge all pitched with Gray being the pitcher of record.
Floyd went the first two innings and allowed no runs, one hit, walked none and struck out one. Gray went two innings and allowed eight runs on five hits, walked four, hit one and struck out three.
Lodge went the final three innings and allowed one run, two hits, struck out two and walked none.

Game two: Saraland 8, TRM 5
Leading 5-4 in the seventh inning and with Davis on the mound in relief, the Tigers gave up four runs to suffer an 8-5 loss.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Davis struck out the next batter he faced, but a dropped third strike advanced the runner to second. A stolen base later was followed by walk and another Tiger error to put runners on first and third with one out.
After Saraland tied the game at 5-all, the Spartans loaded the bases with one out and scored three more runs in the inning and held T.R. Miller scoreless in the bottom of the inning to stun the Tigers.
Davis took the loss on the mound as he went 2/3 of an inning and allowed one hit, four runs, walked and struck out two.
Hunter Brittain was the starting pitcher for the Tigers. Tim McDonald and Drew Williamson pitched in relief while Zac Griffin went the final 1/3 of an inning.
Brittain went three innings and allowed four hits, two runs, walked none and struck out one.
McDonald went two innings and allowed three hits, two runs, walked none and struck out three.
Williamson went one inning and walked one, hit one and struck out one.
Griffin struck out the lone batter he faced.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, Jones Manning, Williamson, Davis, Brittain, Floyd, Dominique Jackson and Lodge all had single while Manning and Lodge had one RBI each.
T.R. Miller led Saraland 2-1 after the first inning, but Saraland tied the game up at 2-all in the third.
After T.R. Miller grabbed a 4-2 lead in the fourth, Saraland plated two runs in the fifth inning to take tie the game at 4-all. T.R. Miller’s final run came in the fifth inning to grab a 5-4 lead before Saraland’s four runs in the seventh allowed them to get the three-run win.
