WSN softball drops third straight game Tuesday

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles dropped their third straight game Tuesday at home as they lost to Cottage Hill 2-1 in an area game. The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 9-7 overall and to 1-2 in area play.
Down 2-0 after three innings, W.S. Neal cut Cottage Hill’s lead to 2- in the fifth inning.
Down by one in the seventh inning, W.S. Neal put runners on second and third with no outs and then loaded the bases with one out and failed to score to take the loss by one.
W.S. Neal also left the bases leaded in the fourth inning.
Cottage Hill held W.S. Neal to only three hits as Tori Wyatt and Haleigh Dubose both had a single each while KeKe Floyd added a double.
Dubose was the pitcher of record for the Lady Eagles as she went seven innings and allowed two hits, two runs, none earned, walked one and struck out 11.
