JDCC rallies to down Faulkner State in 14 innings; gets win over Huntingdon Wednesday

A walk-off bases loaded walk from Taylor Fought brought home the winning run for the JDCC Warhawk baseball team Thursday as they picked up a 13-12 conference victory over the Faulkner State Sun Chiefs.
Things did not look good for the Warhawks early as Faulkner led JDCC 9-3 after six innings. After JDCC cut the lead to 9-5 in the seventh, and Faulkner took a 10-5 lead in the top of the eighth, the Warhawks plated three runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in the eighth to tie the game at 10-all. Neither team would score again until the 14th inning when JDCC outscored the Sun Chiefs 3-2 in the inning to get the one-run conference win.
The two teams combined for 25 runs and 43 hits, including six extra base hits.
Trey Marshall earned the win on the mound for JDCC as he was one of four Warhawk pitchers to pitch Thursday.
Joining Marshall on the mound was Taylor Baynes, Tyler Henry and Nick Helton.
The quartet combined to go 14 innings and allowed 25 hits, 12 runs, eight earned, walked five and struck out nine.
At the plate for JDCC, Jonathan Moore had a double along with John-Mark Cosby. Craig Headley, Taylor Fought and Brandon Goins all had two hits each while Brandon Davis, Cosby and Logan Hill had three hits each.
Moore, Dake Rivers, and Matthew Holmes all had one hit each. Headley, Jones and Hill had two RBIs each while Cosby had four and Fought had one.
With the win Thursday, JDCC improved to 9-15 overall and to 5-8 in conference play.

JDCC 10, Huntingdon 3
In a makeup game Wednesday at Huntingdon, JDCC came away with a 10-3 win to improve to 8-15 overall.
Dylan Johnson was the winning pitcher for the Warhawks and was joined on the mound by Scott Robertson, Jacob Fillmore. The pitchers combined to go nine innings and allowed six hits, three runs, one earned, walked two and struck out 11.
Moore was 2-for-3 at the plate for JDCC with one RBI while Headley was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Davis was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Caleb Dickey was 1-for-4. Hill was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while Fought was 2-for-5 with a double and one RBI.
Tanner Zant went 1-for-3 for the Warhawks in the win.
